FurnaceFilters.com MERV 8 Return Air Grille Furnace Filters are designed with a 5-inch filter depth that provides nine times the media area of a comparable 1-inch filter, which greatly reduces pressure drop while increasing service life. These filters use a unique knife-edge seal header to prevent bypass, and can last six months to a year in most home installations.
The electrostatically charged, 100 percent synthetic, graduated density media is continuously bonded to a 30-gauge galvanized, corrosion-resistant, expanded metal support grid with an effective open area of 96 percent. The media is resistant to a wide range of chemicals, does not absorb moisture, and will not support microbial growth.
The controlled pleat spacing maximizes surface area and dust-holding capacity and is bonded to the enclosure frame to prevent dust bypass. The enclosure frame is constructed of high wet-strength, moisture-resistant beverage board. The diagonal support members of the frame are bonded to the entering and exiting apexes of each pleat to prevent pleat collapse and filter bowing while preventing air bypass and providing rigidity.

I saw this uniquie filter on your site and had to try it. It replaced my one inch deep filter with its special retro fit header.This filter is 5 inches deep and will probably last me a year.I also have pets and am in love with the performance.When my unit would draw air with my old one inch filter you could hear the draw of air.This filter actually is so deep it makes my system run quieter and with no strain.I know from this alone I am saving energy and working my compressor less.I know the concept is hard to understand but if you have 5 inches of space behind your one inch filter,this thing goes into the duct.I dont know were FurnaceFilters.com got the development of this product from but it is long overdue to home filtration.I now see you have this in a MERV 13.Thats almost Hospital grade filtration.My next order will be for the MERV 13 and I might just stop using my air cleaner.Way to go on a incredible and GREEN product.
